The Shrimps claimed a well earned point at in-form Chesterfield.
Morecambe had to come from behind after Jack Lester gave the home side the lead on 75 minutes when he diverted a Drew Talbot shot past Barry Roche from close range.
Three minutes later the Shrimpe were level when Phil Jevons scored his second goal of the season from the penalty spot after Ian Breckin had handled Manny Panther's right wing cross.
Both sides had chances to win the game with the Shrimps coming close when Phil Jevons hit the crossbar with a long range effort that beat Lee.
In the first period Shrimps' srtopper Barry Roche made two superb saves to deny his former club while at the other end Ian Craney forced Tommy Lee into a good tip over after a dipping free kick almost caught him out on 35 minutes.
Roche produced his first save of note on 25 minutes when he tipped away a low drive from Mark Allott and seven minutes later he produced an even better block to tip away Donal McDermott's deflected shot.
Garry Hunter returned to the Morecambe squad for their last ever trip to Saltergate.
The starting line up was the same as the one that drew 2-2 with Macclesfield last week as the Shrimps look to repeat their 2-1 success here last year.
