Morecambe took a well earned point from the Don Valley Stadium today as they held league leaders Rotherham to a 0-0 draw.
The Shrimps produced a batytling performance to keep the Millers at bay and make it four draws in succession for Sammy McIlroy's side.
Phil Jevons produced the first effort on goal when with five minutes gone he tried an audacious lob from 30 yards with Andy Warrington off his line and saw his effort curl inches wide of the left hand post.
From there chances were at a premium as both defences stayed strong. Rotherham's first clear effort came on 34 minutes when top scorer Aam Le Fondre latched on to a firtunate rebound on the right hand side of the area but saw his effort well saved by Barry Roche.
At the other end the Shrimps were denied a 41st minute opener by a superb reflex save from Warrington as Jim Bentley got on to the end of Dave Artell's right wing cross but saw his effort smothered by the home keeper.
The second half saw Rotherham come close on several occasions with Garry Hunter clearing off the line from Danny Harrison and Ryan Taylor shooting inches wide but the Shrimps came close themselves with Dave Artell inches away from connecting with Craig Stanley's late free kick.
