The Shrimps clinched their first win of the season in a thriller against Notts County.
Goals from Jim Bentley and Paul Mullin gave the home side the advantage and although Ben Davies pulled on back 20 minutes from time the Shrimps held on for a welcome win.
Shrimps skipper Bentley headed his side into the lead on 36 minutes when he rose above his marker to force Ian Craney's corner past Kaspar Schmeichel.
The goal came after some intense Morecambe pressure which saw Schmeichel forced into a string of early saves from Mullin, Ian Craney, Laurence Wilson and Phil Jevons.
At the other end Barry Roche saved superbly from Ben Davies's dipping volley.
Mullin made it 2-0 from another Craney corner and should have made it 3-0 seconds later when put through by Craney only to drag a shot wide of the target.
Davies then gave County hope with a 70th minute curler and he was denied a quickfire equaliser with a header from Craig Westcarr's cross that came back off the post. Westcarr himself then came close to a goal in injury time with a shot that came back off the inside of the post before goalkeeper Schmeichel came close to becoming an unlikely hero with an acrobatic volley that grazed the crossbar four minutes into injury time.
