Morecambe claimed a welcome three points and kept their play-off hopes alive with a hard earned win over Torquay at Christie Park.
The Shrimps held the lead at the break thanks to an early goal from Paul Mullin.
The Shrimps' striker scored from close range after Mark Duffy swung a corner into the near post. Lee Mansell missed an attempted clearance and Mullin was on hand to score at full stretch.
Four minutes later Torquay had a golden chance to equalise when Scott Rendell looked to take advantage of Barry Roche's failure to claim a cross but he somehow missed the target from six yards out. As he did so however he was pulled by by Roche who was amazingly only given a yellow card and then added insult to Torquay's injury when he saved Nicky Wroe's spot kick.
The visitors then piled on the pressure with Morecambe skipper Jim Bentley producing a superb last-gasp block to deny Scott Rendell and clearing a Chris Zebroski effort off the line. Dave Artell blocked a near post volley from Elliott Benyon after Roche had saved well from Rendell as the Gulls pushed forward.
But as Torquay pushed forward they left gaps at the back and Morecambe made the most of them with an injury time second goal to seal the three points from substitute Craig Stanley.
Shrimps' boss Sammy McIlroy makes one change to the starting line up for the game against Torquay.
Will Haining has not recovered from his groin strain and Dave Artell returns to partner Jim Bentley at the heart of the defence.
