The Shrimps are still looking for their first win of the season after letting a three goal lead slip in tonight's thrillking clash with Rochdale.
Morecambe took a 3-0 lead into the break with goals from on-loan Huddersfield pair Phil Jevons and Ian Craney but then it all went wrong in the second 45 minutes as Keith Hill's side staged a comeback.
Jevons gave the Shrimps the lead on 33 minutes when he latched on to Laurence Wilson's square ball to beat Kenny Arthur low to his left. Five minutes later the home side doubled their advantage when Craney robbed Tom Kennedy of possession and fired a low shot past Arthur from the edge of the area.
To make matters worse for the Hornets their defence was caught out again by Jevons as he nipped in between defender and goalkeeper to poke the ball into the empty net.
A comfoprtable win looked on the cards - but Rochdale thought otherwise.
Chris Dagnall fired them back into the game on 48 minutes and when Joe Thompson headed home a corner just after the hour it was game on.
The comeback was complete when Dale Stephens fired an equaliser 15 minutes from time although Michael Twiss was inches away from giving the Shrimps a 4-3 win with a late effort.
