PHIL Jevons bagged a hat-trick as Morecambe crushed struggling Stockport.
Jevons, who has missed most of the season so far with injury, was the star of the show as Morecambe won at home for only the second time this season.
Last season's top scorer was on the scoresheet after only eight minutes after striking home a penalty following a handball on the line from Jake Simpson which saw the midfielder shown a red card.
Stockport hit back with top scorer George Donnelly firing wide on two occasions and Jordon Rose seeing a header cleared off the line before Morecambe scored twice in quick succession.
Jim Bentley made it 2-0 when he headed home a Craig Stanley corner on 33 minutes from six yards out.
Four minutes later Jevons added his second when he stabbed home another Stanley corner from close range.
Jevons was denied a third early in the second half when he hit the crossbar but he hit back to collect the match ball with a delightful chip from Mark Duffy's crossfield ball.
Scott Brown made it 5-0 with a deflected shot to wrap up the scoring.
Shrimps' boss Sammy McIlroy made two changes to the side that lost 3-1 at Torquay on Saturday.
Phil Jevons and Jim Bentley return to the side in place of Andy Fleming and the suspended Andy Parrish.
