Top scorer Phil Jevons earned the Shrimps a deserved point at Whaddon Road as they came from behind to seal a well earned draw.

The Shrimps had to come from behins after a goal from Josh Low on 42 minutes gave Cheltenham the lead at the break.

Low scored with the easiest of tap ins after a low left wing cross found him unmarked six yards out to give the Robins the lead.

The goal came out of the blue after a well matched first half which saw the sides trade chances with Morecambe playing some excellent football.

Cheltenham keeper Scott Brown had to make a decent save after his own defenders diverted a Laurence Wilson cross goalwards and Wilson also went close with a left foot drive.

At the other end Barry Roche made good saves from long range efforts by Jeff Goulding and Brian Smikle and Andy Parrish produced a superb goal saving challange just past the half hour as Low looked certain to open the scoring.

The Shrimps started the second half on top as they went to a 3-5-2 formation. Andy Fleming was denied his fifth goal of the season by a superb save from Scott Brown from his close range volley and Paul Mullin fired the rebound well wide. Mullin was denied on the hour by some good defending from Martin Riley and Brown was forced into another good save from a Laurence Wilson strike.

The Shrimps were rewarded for their efforts when they were awarded a penalty 11 minutes from time when Jimmy Spencer was brought down by Marlon Pack in the box. Phil Jevons stepped up to take the spot kick and sent Scott Brown the wrong way. It was Morecambe who looked the more likely to take the three points with Will Haining heading just wide and Spencer forcing Brown into a decent save low to his right.

Boss Sammy McIlroy welcomes back a number of players into the squad for the trip to Cheltenham.

Andy Fleming and Craig Stanley return to the midfield and Andy Parrish is back in the side after missing last week's defeat against Lincoln City. Mark Duffy misses out through injury with Stewart Drummond and Neil Wainwright also sidelined.
