MORECAMBE secured the double over Stockport and recorded a third away win of the season at Edgelely Park this afternoon.
Two goals in three first half minutes were enouigh to give the Shrimps their first win of 2011.
Chris Shuker gave the Shrimps the lead on 29 minutes with a header from Craig Stanley's right wing corner and three minutes later Jimmy Spencer doubled the advantage when he turned in Laurence Wilson's left wing cross with a neat near post to beat Matt Glennon low to his left.
The Shrimps also had a goal disallowed on 25 minutes when Wilson finished well from Mark Duffy's fine pass but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Stockport's best effort came in the late stages of the half when Robbie Williams's header was well tipped over by Barry Roche.
The second half saw Morecambe come close to adding to their lead with Spencer. Shuker and Mark Duffy all testing Matt Glennon.
The home side's only effort of note came from a long range Williams drive that Roche saved low to his left.

Garry Hunter is ruled out with a knee injury and Scott Brown and Paul Mullin dropped to the bench. Tony Capaldi, Chris Shuker and Mark Duffy came in as the Shrimps reverted to 4-4-2.
