Morecambe suffered an opening day defeat at the hands of Wycombe.
A 36th minute Scott Rendell penalty saw the Shrimps behind at the break.
Rendell slotted home the spot kick after Chris Shuker was adjudged to have brought down Matt Bloomfield in the area. The former Torquay man sent Barry Roche the wrong way from the spot to give his side a lead which they took into the break.
The Shrimps looked to fight back in the second half with Adam Rundle twice going close with volleys and Phil Jevons heading wide before Shuker went close with a superb dipping volley that was inches over.
Any hopes of a comeback were dashed when Wycombe substitute Jon-Paul Pittman produced a fine finish to beat Barry Roche from the edge of the area.
Morecambe started well with Paul Scott heading a Craig Stanley corner just over on four minutes. From there Adam Rundle and Phil Jevons were denied by Nikki Bull with two saves in quick succession.
Wycombe went close again though with Ben Strevens hitting the crossbar and Lewis Montrose hitting threside netting.
Shrimps' boss Sammy McIlroy hands debuts to several new faces for the game.
Chris McCready, Paul Scott, Chris Shuker and Adam Rundle all start against the Chairboys as the Shrimps look to tame a new look Wycombe front line that was on fire in pre season.
Jim Bentley is ruled out and Andy Parrish starts at centre half with McCready as Will Haining is not yet 100% fit.
