The Shrimps may not have reached the heights of the weekend but they picked up another useful away point at Macclesfield.
Jim Bentley's side had to come back from the worst possible start when they went a goal down after just seven seconds as the home side scored straight from the kick off. Ben Tomlinson and George Donnelly took the kick off and ran stariht down the middle with Tomlinson producing a superb finish past Barry Roche from 25 yards.
Things got worse for the Shrimps on 13 minutes when Gary McDonald had to be stretchered off with a knee injury after an innocuous challange.
But the Shrimps bounced back with Danny Carlton scoring on 16 minutes with a cool finish from 12 yards out after Laurence WIlson's free kick rebounded into his path off the Macclesfield wall.
The second half was a scrappy affair and saw few chances. The best fell to Carlton who headed wide from three yards out two minutes from time when he looked sure to score.
Jim Bentley sticks with the same side that beat Crawley 6-0 at the weekend with the only change on the bench with Kieran Charnock coming in for the injured Phil Jevons.
