A stunning last-gasp goal from Nick Fenton gave the Shrimps a battling point.
Central defender Fenton scored with a superb volley from inside the box four minutes into injury time as the Shrimps looked set for their first league defeat away from the Globe Arena this season.
After a sluggish start the home side took the lead on the half hour after an excellent strike from skipper Simon Walton. Warren Feeney, a one time arget for Sammy McIlroy a couple of season ago, worked hard to create the assist with a cross from the right which the Morecambe defence cleared to the edge of the area where Walton was standing to flash the ball past Barry Roche.
Morecambe hit back with Gary McDonald heading a Garry Hunter corner wide from eight yards and the always dangerous Kevin Ellison denied a clear shot on goal by an excellent covering tackle from Marcus Bignot.
The Shrimps had the majority of the possession in the second half but struggled to break through a determined Plymouth defence.
Ellison was once again the biggest threat. He forced Larrieu into his first save of note with a 30 yard free kick on 69 minutes before hitting the outside of the post 10 minutes from time with a superb volley from Izak Reid's right wing cross before Fenton's fantasic strike.
