Morecambe picked up an excellent point at Wimbledon with another solid performance.
The Shrimps took the lead six minutes after the break through Gary McDonald when he ghosted into the box to head a Danny Carlton cross past Seb Brown.
The Shrimps were then forced to defend for a long period and made some vital blocks through Nick Fenton and Stewart Drummond before the home side broke free 15 minutes from time when Rashid Yussuff broke past McDonald's tackle to slot the ball past Barry Roche.
Both sides then pushed for the winner with Roche making good saves from Yussuff and Christian Jolley and Laurence Wilson going close with a shot from the edge of the area for the Shrimps.
Morecambe then had a golden chance to win the game in injury time when the ball fell to the unmarked McDonald in the area six yards out but he failed to find the target when he looked sure to score and the opportunity for three points went begging.
Wimbledon enjoyed the greater share of the possession n the first half and came closest to scoring with Jack Midson forcing a great save from Roche just after the half hour as he curled an effort in from the left hand side of the box.
Roche was also quick to react to a deflected shot on 40 minutes before former Blackpool man Jason Euell wasted a glorious chance when he blazed over from the edge of the area.
Danny Carlton went close for the Shrimps at the death when his volley was well held by Seb Brown after good work from Laurence Wilson.
