Morecambe picked up a battling point in an entertaining goalless draw with fellow League 2 high-fliers Cheltenham Town at the Globe Arena.
In a game of two halves the Shrimps struggled to make any impression in the first half but recovered after the break to end the game the better side.
Cheltenham dominated possession in the first half and created some good early chances.
Central defender Steve Elliott headed over from 10 yards when found unmarked by a Joe Hanks corner on 16 minutes before Barry Roche denied the excellent Craig Braham-Barrett with a fine save.
The Robins then had a second free header from a corner on 27 minutes but captain Matt Taylor again failed to find the target.
On loan Millwall striker John Marquis then forced Roche into the save of the game with a well struck volley from 20 yards before the visitors missed their best chance on the stroke of half time when Byron Harrison shot tamely into the arms of Roche after being found free in the box.
Cheltenham continued to control possession after the break with Roche forced to tip over a Jordan Wynter cross that was deflected goalwards before the Shrimps finally found second gear.
Jack Redshaw went close after a superb run and shot that flew inches wide before the introduction of substitute Paul Mullin changed the game.
Mullin's direct running caused the visitors' defence moments of panic and the Shrimps began to forge their own chances.
Jamie Devitt shot over the bar at full stretch under pressure. while Mullin twice went close with shots from distance.
Kevin Ellison tested Trevor Carson with a free kick from the edge of the box before Cheltenham almost snatched victory at the death when the excellent Roche tipped away a swerving long range Jason Taylor effort.
