Jim Bentley says his side are looking forward to Saturday’s clash with Carlisle at Brunton Park.

The boss says he was “proud’’ of his side after the 4-1 win against Notts County last week and is calling for more of the same this weekend.

Bentley, who watched the game from the stands for the first match of his two game ban, said: “I was proud as anything watching the players and the bench and the feelgood factor I could say.

“It was one of those days where everything went right and it was a fabulous afternoon for everyone.

“There is a real togetherness at this club and we pride ourselves on that and when times are tough that comes out and I see that every day. Everyone is battling away in extreme circumstances but as long we give it our best shot everyone will get praise.’’

The manager said he is hoping to do some business while the transfer window is open.

He said: “We are looking at things and there will be business done but it has taken longer than we hoped for.

“We are not in an ideal position and we have lost a couple of targets already but we will fight on. We won;t sulk, we will get on with it and I’m sure we will do something because we desperayely need a couple in because February and March are really busy and we can’t go into those months with 16 players.’’

Looking ahead to the Carlisle game he said: “It is a tasty fixture and although they have had a couple of defeats recently they will be strong.

“It’s a free shot for us. They are in a healthy position and they seem to have it right after a couple of difficult seasons and they will be expected to win.

“We are behind them in a lot of departments but we are passionate and have a big heart and whatever 11 players we have on the pitch will know our game plan.

“We have had some good performances over the last five or six weeks and if we play like that we will cause them problems and we are looking forward to it.’’
