Jim Bentley says he is hoping his side can maintain their good run of recent form.

The Shrimps will be looking to follow up their impressive 2-1 victory over Plymouth last time out with a second successive league win.

They go into the game without the suspended Alex Whitmore and Kevin Ellison and with a major doubt over Cole Stockton but both Andy Fleming and Alex Kenyon should be in contention after coming through a reserve team game this week.

Bentley said: "We will be a bit short of numbers but we will definitely have a squad of players ready for the game. I've often said that when one door closes for one player it opens for another and anyone who comes in has a real chance to make their mark.''

Looking ahead to the game Bentley added: "We are looking to take the feelgood factor from the last fortnight into the game and get another three points to take us further up the league.

"It is such a tight league this year that a couple of wins can make a massive difference. if you look at Wycombe they were in the bottom few a couple of weeks ago but are now in the play offs after a few good results and that is what we are looking for.

"Newport have lost their last three and have a big FA Cup replay ahead of them with a huge game at Liverpool of they win so hopefully their thoughts may be elsewhere and we can get the points.

"But they will be saying the same as us as they will want to move away from the bottom too so it is a big game for both clubs.''
