Jim Bentley happy with Brunton Park point

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley said he was happy with his side's  point after the 1-1 draw at Carlisle on Saturday.

After seeing a late Padraig Amond penalty  cancel out Brad Potts’ 52nd minute strike Bentley said:  “When we got back to 1-1 we had one or two decent chances but the most important thing is that you don’t lose, especially after the last couple of results.

“We knew they were going to come out of traps after a good win in midweek and they had us pinned back for long periods.

“Having said that they only got one shot on target which Dan Ward made a great save from and we hit them a couple times on the break.

“The goal was a long-range shot, these things happen, they either hit the back of the net or row Z.
“Credit to the lads they battled back, looked threatening, got the penalty and we got ourselves back on level terms.

“I thought the subs who came on did really well, (Paul) Mullin was full of beans and Podge (Amond) showed great mental strength with the penalty in front of the home fans.

“Jack (Redshaw) then hit the crossbar and both sides had one or two little sniffs.

“But we take the point and we move on.”
