Boss Praises Side

Jim Bentley full of praise for his injury-hit side.

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley was full of praise for his injury-hit side after their excellent win at Brunton Park.

Two goals from Shaun Miller and a sixth goal of the season for Tom Barkhuizen helped The Shrimps come from a goal behind to seal an entertaining 3-2 win at Brunton Park.

Bentley said: “We only had six subs on the bench today and we were a bit stretched after a tough game at Bury on Tuesday night.

“I know how hard it is to go from game-to-game and absorb the information that we tell them ahead of each game.

“But they’ve carried out the gameplan today and we bounced back after we went 1-0 down.

“We hit them numerous times on the break, in the second half certainly, and should have scored more than the three we did.

“I’m disappointed with the second goal at the end that made for a nervous four or five minutes but I think right throughout we defended well when we had to.

“I’m absolutely made up with the result and the following we got.

“I think Tuesday took some topping but the fans were superb and got right behind us.”

“Shaun Miller will grab the headlines and he’s coming really good now but Tom Barkhuizen has got six goals now and could have had a couple more and Jamie Devitt has 11 assists now with two today.

“We’re looking good going forwards and we’ll just continue to work hard on that defensive side of the game.

“Over the last two games we’ve been great though.”
