Shrimps Sign Goodall

Former Fleetwood man signs for the Shrimps

JIM Bentley has added to his squad by signing the experienced Alan Goodall.

The 32-year-old has impressed Bentley during pre season training with the Shrimps in recent weeks and has agreed a deal with the former Fleetwood man.

Goodall was released by Fleetwood despite being an integral member of their play off winning side last season, starting in the Wembley win over Burton Albion.

He has also played for clubs such as Chesterfield, Luton and Rochdale.

It is a deal that has delighted the Shrimps boss who said: "I have known Alan for a while and he is the perfect player for us.

"He has great experience at this level and can play in several positions in defence or midfield and he is a lad who has fitted perfectly into the squad.''

Goodall said: "Being from Liverpool I know the gaffer well and really respect what he and Ken McKenna have done at the club.

"It didn't take long for me to see the dressing room spirit here was something special and I have really enjoyed myself here in pre season and really think we have a side that can do well this year.''

Goodall will wear the number 13 shirt this season.
