Morecambe FC win top prize in the 2013 Hospitality Awards

Morecambe Football Club have once again walked away with the top prize for its Matchday Hospitality Experience following the prestigious Football Hospitality Awards 2013 which took place at the Reading FC’s Madjeski Stadium on Thursday 23rd May 2013.

Catering and Hospitality teams from League 2 to the Premier League attended the Madjeski Stadium to receive their awards, with Morecambe winning the title for Best Matchday Hospitality Experience Award in League 2 for the 3rd year in succession!

Each club taking part in the Matchday Hospitality Experience Award was independently visited by a professional catering judge from Salon Culinaire. They were all marked on criteria including service efficiency, food quality, venue standards and even presentation of match day marketing sales literature.

The Globe Arena’s dedicated chef team competed against Premier League Clubs Newcastle United, Arsenal, West Brom & Everton to receive a Merit for the Chef Team of the Year, sponsored by Salon Culinaire.

The famous Morecambe FC pies were also recognized with a Bronze in The Fans Choice Football Pie League Award sponsored by The Hospitality and Catering News. Morecambe Football Club would like to thank each and every one of the fans who took part and voted for us – we couldn’t have done it without your support!

Peter McGuigan, Chairman commented ‘This is a magnificent achievement - to win the title of Best Matchday Hospitality Experience in League 2 for 3 years on the run is staggering! It would be fantastic to see the people of Morecambe respond by coming along to the Globe Arena and giving our award-winning hospitality a try!’
