An under 11s team from Lancaster Road School are celebrating victory in the local final of the Football League Kinder+Sport Kids Cup. The match was played on the main pitch at Globe Arena during half-time of the Shrimps’ recent clash with Tranmere Rovers.

The Football League competition gives schools the chance to progress all the way to Wembley, where the Grand Final takes place in May. Lancaster Road will now represent Morecambe FC in the Regional Finals, which take place at Globe Arena in March.
Janet Preston, Community Manager at Morecambe FC said, “The local final is a fantastic experience for the children, to play on the Globe Arena pitch in front of a big crowd. Both teams played really well in difficult conditions and the fans enjoyed the contest; offering great support and encouragement. We wish Lancaster Road all the best in the Regional Finals, which we are delighted to be hosting this year.”
