Moving On From Tuesday

20 November 2015

We must put the disappointment of Tuesday behind us.

SHRIMPS' boss Jim Bentley says his side must put the disappointment of Tuesday's FA Cup defeat to Dagenham behind them them ahead of the trip to Barnet on Saturday.

Bentley admitted the defeat left a mark on him and his side but says they must put it to the back of their minds on Saturday.

He said: "Tuesday night was horrible and I've had a horrible few days to be honest since the game.

"It was hard to accept and defeats like that affect me more than anyone.

"But this is football and we are back in action on Saturday and we have the chance to put it right. We can't feel sorry for ourselves because football doesn't let you do that.

"I know Barnet manager Martin Allen was there on Tuesday and he will have gone away confident that his side can get a result against us.

"But our away form has been excellent this year and we must look to put in the type of performance that has served us well on the road.

"We have scored a lot of goals but our defensive record is shocking and we have to get it right at both ends of the pitch. When we do that we have looked good and got some great results.

"We have to remember that we are just three points off the play offs and are in the regional semi final of the JPT after beating three League 1 sides so we have had some highs and we have to overcome the lows.''
