Born in Birmingham in 1955, moved to Bradford in 1973 and moved to Morecambe in 1992.Supported West Bromich Albion since 1965. Since moving to Morecambe have made Morecambe FC my second team and try to see as many games as possible. I am an avid fan of the Morecambe pies!! Favourite all-time MFC players are John Coleman and Jim Bentley - I also watch a lot of Lancashire non league football.
Despite leading a very healthy lifestyle and having no symptoms, during a regular health check irregularities were discovered in my blood tests. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer on 10th September 2013 and had operation on 29th October to remove my prostate. Since the operation I have had 2 clear blood tests but have to have 5 years of clear tests to be classed as cured. Getting an early diagnosis albeit somewhat fortunately has meant that I am now back at work. I would urge any male over 40 to ask their GP for regular blood tests. PCUK is all about raising awareness of this particular cancer, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my family and friends and in particular my wife Margaret, grand daughter Charlotte and Chad for all their love and support.
