Tom McCready, brother of Chris signs non contract terms

SHRIMPS confirm signing of Tom McCready on non-contract terms

The club has today announced the signing of Tom McCready, younger brother of ex-Shrimps stalwart Chris, after the former Everton youth player featured in the recent friendly matches against AFC Liverpool and Oldham Athletic.  McCready, 23, came through the ranks at Goodison Park and also had a spell with Hibernian before accepting a scholarship in the US and representing Limestone College.  Upon his return to England, McCready made several appearances for Stewart Drummond's reserve team in the latter stages of the 2013-14 campaign before returning to the club for pre-season training at the beginning of July.

Manager Jim Bentley commented on the addition of McCready, paying tribute to the player's desire to make a positive impression and secure an extended deal with the club:

"It's refreshing in this day and age where a young footballer who's trying to make his way in the game is willing to sign for no wages. He's got savings so he's quite happy to sign for nothing and live off that while he does his stuff and tries to earn a permanent contract with us."
