Three and easy for Reserves

MORECAMBE Reserves beat Tranmere 3-0 at Vauxhall Motors’ Rivacre Park on Wednesday afternoon in the Final Third Development League.

The Shrimps fielded a strong side including several first team members looking for match fitness and they always looked in charge against a good Tranmere team including Jason Koumas and Danny Woodards who were making their comebacks from injury.

The Shrimps went ahead just past the half hour mark when Tom Barkhuizen scored from the penalty spot after Woodards was ruled to have handled the ball in the area. The Shrimps went two up a minute into the second half when Alan Goodall scored with a header from a corner and added a third on 75 minutes with a strike from the edge of the area by youngster Jack Kelleher.

Unused Substitutes: Omotola, Askew.

Morecambe: Lumley, McGowan (captain), Goodall, Edwards, Doyle, Drummond, Barkhuizen, McCready, Amond, Williams, Watson.
