A late header from Wayne Curtis gave Morecambe a share of the spoils against managerless Grimsby.
Curtis came off the bench to earn his side a point with an excellent header from a superb Criag Stanley free kick 16 minutes from time.
The striker could have given the Shrimps all three points when he fired over Garry Hunter's through ball moments later but it was Hunter who was the hero at the other end in the final moments with a goal line clearance from Matt Heywood's header.
Grimsby then came close themselves to picking up their first win in 14 games when Nick Hegarty was denied by a fine save from Barry Roche.
Grimsby took the lead with a ninth minute Peter Till penalty.
Ryan McCann was adjudged to have fouled Danny Boshell in the area and Till, the best player of the first half, send Barry Roche the wrong way from the spot.
The Shrimps had just one effort on goal in the first half with Stewart Drummond floating a free kick just over the bar.
