MORECAMBE extended their unbeaten run to 11 games with this battling win.
A scrappy game came to life with three goals in five minutes after the half hour.
Home defender Dave Artell started the goal rush when he headed Morecambe into the lead on 32 minutes. Barnet keeper Jake Cole missed Michael Twiss's corner leaving Artell with a free header six yards out to score his second goal of the season.
The lead lasted less than a minute however as the Bees struck back almost immediately. Albert Adomah crossed from the right and the visitors' in-form striker John O'Flynn reacted sharply in the box to stroke the ball past the helpless Barry Roche from six yards out.
Four minutes later however, the Shrimps regained the lead through Wayne Curtis. The midfielder created some space on the edge of the area and drilled a low shot that beat Cole low to his right when the keeper should have done better.
Morecambe started the second half brightly with Artell forcing Cole into a neat save and Adam Yates slicing a right foot effort well wide after a neat Shrimps' move.
Cole then went some way to making amends for his earlier error with a superb save from Twiss's close range volley before the Bees came back into the game.
Former York midfielder Neal Bishop volleyed just over from the edge of the area and a Nick Deverdics shot was superbly blocked by Stewart Drummond. Defender Ismail Yakubu then headed wide from eight yards before Yannick Bolasie wasted a glorious chance when he miskicked when played through by O'Flynn.
