Stanley staying as Shrimps boss targets wide man

Posted on: Mon 01 Sep 2008

The main talk on transfer deadline day is the news that Craig Stanley is staying at Christie Park and not going out on loan.

Another League 2 side had expressed an interest in taking Stanley on loan but boss Sammy McIlroy wants him to stay with the Shrimps and look to regain his place once he overcomes his injured foot.

McIlroy does hope to bring in one new face for this weekend's clash with Shrewsbury. The player in question is an experienced wide man but is a free agent so the transfer deadline does not affect the possibility of the move taking place.

Adam Yates has already joined Burton Albion on loan and another Morecambe player may also be making a loan switch before the weekend.
