Shrimps player of the year Danny Adams has returned to training after a virus which has laid him low for a fortnight.

Boss Sammy McIlroy welcomed him back to the fold this week but said he was still suffering the after effects of the illness.

He said: "Danny came back on Monday but the virus he had has really taken it out of him. He is a very determined character as everyone knows but he was struggling today and we will just have to take things slowly with him to make sure he is right.''

McIlroy was also delighted to see that Diarmuid O'Carroll's goal on Saturday was voted the best of the lot  in the Leagues on Sky Sports' Big Weekend programme.

"I knew it was a special goal but the more you watch it on the television the better it looks,'' he said.
