Fans were awesome at Lincoln
Saturday was a big game for us at Lincoln - and it was an excellent point at a tough place.
We battled hard from start to finish and I think in the end a draw was a fair result.
They came out of the blocks at us and took the lead but we dug in and showed a lot of character and Stanners scored on his return.
It was good for Craig with everything that has happened this year and he, like the rest of the lads, put in a good shift.
We are now five games unbeaten in all competitions and that is a decent run. But we want to start to turn some of the draws into wins.
That said, there are a lot of teams in a similar position to ourselves and you have no divine right to win football matches.
You have to work to get things from games and we worked very hard on Saturday. We defended well and we had chances as well.
I had one at the end of the game when I ran the length of the field. I must admit, I was getting into nosebleed territory when I was that far forward and it would have been the best goal I had scored.
But the ball wouldn't sit right for me and their lad got back just to nick it away as I was looking to shoot.
It would have been a special goal - but I am a defender and it is my job to stop goals being scored and I was pleased with my goal-line clearance earlier on.
As a defender you look to stop goals being conceded and we are tightening up at the back which is pleasing.
I have worked harder than ever on my fitness and it is good to prove a few of the doubters wrong. Some people suggested that I wouldn't cut it in the League but that just spurs me on to improve.
It's another test for us this weekend when we play Chesterfield at home. They have one of the best strikers in our division in Jack Lester - but as defenders you relish those tests and we always feel confident going into games.
I want to say something about our fans as well. Many comments were made about some of the negativity in the last home game but the fans were awesome at Lincoln.
It is a long way to go and with the rising fuel costs it becomes a long and expensive day for the fans.
So we really appreciate them - and if it was possible I would love to personally thank each and every one of them.
I have also signed an extension to my contract and I am made-up. This club is special to me and I never had any intention of going anywhere else. It's great news.
