Players forfeit normal day off

Posted on: Wed 15 Oct 2008
The Morecambe squad forfeited their normal day off today as they look to bounce back from last Saturday's disappointing 5-0 defeat at Gillingham.
Wednesday is normally a rest day for the Shrimps' squad but they were in today as McIlroy and assistant Mark Lillis make sure the preparations are as throrough as they can be ahead of this Saturday's game against Rochdale at Christie Park
Said the boss: "We have watched the video of the Gillingham game and talked through where we went wrong and where we can improve.
"The lads will be in every day this week because we need to make sure we get things right for Saturday.
"We will be working hard on a lot of things and trying to get them right for Rochdale.''
McIlroy said he would have liked to have had a midweek game this week to get the players back on the pitch as soon as possible to get the Gills' game out of their heads.
He said: "I realy wish we had had a midweek game this week but we will have to wait until Saturday and I am sure we will be ready to give a performance against Rochdale."
