Bentley will face late fitness test

Posted on: Tue 02 Dec 2008

Shrimps boss Sammy McIlroy says he will give a late fitness test to Jim Bentley ahead of tonight's rescheduled FA Cup second round clash with Cheltenham.

Bentley missed the game on Saturday with a calf problem but trained on Monday and may be fit to return tonight.

Said McIlroy: "Jim Bentley doesn't miss many games and he is the sort of character you need around the place on a big occasion like this. He came through training on Monday and we will have a look at him before the game but we won't take any risks with him.''

Added the Shrimps' boss: "We are hoping there is a grat crowd and a great atmosphere at Christie Park tonight. We know full well it is a tough game and a big ask but we showed in the first half on Saturday that we can cause them problems.''
