Good to be back, says Bentley

Posted on: Thu 08 Jul 2010

Skipper Jim Bentley admits it is 'good to be back' after the 2010/2011 Morecambe squad met for the first day of pre-season training this morning.

Sammy McIlroy's new arrivals Paul Scott and Adam Rundle met their new team mates for the first time before going through a gruelling fitness workout ahead of the new campaign which gets underway next month.

After a five week layoff Bentley was pleased to be back and is gearing himself up for some hard work before the trip to Wycombe on August 7th.

"Its good to be back and we all really just want to get a good pre-season under our belts and be prepared for next season," he admitted.

"Myself and most of the other lads have been in a lot during the summer but it's nice to be back with everyone together again.

"Pre-season is hard work and not always nice but it is crucial, it is vitally important that we are properly prepared," he added.

"Once training has started you find the games start coming thick and fast so we need to make sure that we are ready for the new season."
