ASSISTANT boss Mark Lillis has revealed to Morecambe Player that the management and players will be giving their all to make sure they get their season up and running as soon as possible.
Lillis said the players would be training every day this week and are giving up their normal day off in an effort to prepare as fully as possible for Saturday's visit of Chesterfield and said a team meeting on Monday morning was "extremely valuable.''
He said: "We all sat down on Monday and had an open discussion and allowed everyone to have their say. It was something we have done before when we have been having bad spells and it is always extremely valuable.
"Sammy and I encourage everyone to have their say because we are all in this together and we don't want anyone to keep any worries or concerns to themselves. Everyone said what they felt and that gives us something to work on as a family.
"I always liken a football team to a family unit and there are always ups and downs but what we always stress is that we are in this together and we win and lose together. We all know we haven't started the season as well as we would have liked but we are not going to sulk about it, we are all going to work our hardest to put things right. No professional footballer likes to lose, it's not a nice feeling and we will be doing all we can to prepare as well as we can for Chesterfield on Saturday.''
