BOSS Jim Bentley says he is delighted to have secured the services of young striker Jack Redshaw.

The 21-year-old former Manchester City youngster joins the Shrimps from Altrincham on an 18 month deal after completing his medical this morning.

Redshaw impressed on trial last week and scored twice for the reserves in their 4-1 win at Tranmere.

Jim said: "Jack is a player with great potential. He may only be small but he is strong and quick and has a real eye for goal. He has a good attitude and I am really looking forward to working with him. He is definitely one for the future and a lot of clubs were interested in signing him so I am delighted that he has chosen us.

"Altrincham FC and their manager Lee Sinnott have been very understanding and have been keen to help Jack progress his career .''

Redshaw will take the number 27 shirt.
