Fraser was originally brought in on loan from Mansfield Town at the end of the 2005/2006 season where his displays in the centre of midfield helped Morecambe into the playoffs.
The former Stockport midfielder signed a two year contract in the Summer of 2006 but he had a terrible 2006/2007 season making 17 appearances in all competitions before dropped for the remainder of the season after Morecambe's 3-1 home defeat to York City on New Year's Day.

Had a nightmare season in 2007/08 when he suffered a broken leg at Preston North End in the Carling Cup. Made only one league appearance as he helped the side to a draw at MK Dons on the final day of the 2007/08 season. He was given a one year contract in the summer.
