Morecambe's longest serving player who has been granted a testimonial this season.

Wayne was signed from Barrow-based Holker Old Boys towards the end of the 1997/1998 season and scored on his debut away at Dover in that season.

Since then has become a regular and consistent member of the squad who has chipped in with some valuable goals and had an eventful time in Morecambe's play-off campaign when he scored twice in the second leg against York City to book Morecambe's place in the playoff final at Wembley.

Wayne became the first player to miss a penalty at the new Wembley but also became the first Morecambe player to sign a Football League contract upon promotion.

Ended the season on the left hand side of a midfield three and excelled as the Shrimps went on a fine run at the end of the season. Didn't score as many goals as he would have liked but is always a threat in the box and always gives nothing less than 100% for his side. Signed a new one year contract at the end of the season.

He has made almost 250 starts for the club scoring close to 70 goals in the process.
