MORECAMBE-born midfielder Garry first broke onto the scene at Morecambe Football Club in the 2002/2003 season whilst playing in the Reserve team. He finished the season as the Reserves' leading scorer with 20 goals from only 11 starts and 6 substitute appearances.
His goals helped Morecambe to win the reserve league and also earned him a call up to the England Colleges team where he represented his country on a number of occasions.
Hunter's impressive form in the Reserves lead to him signing a full time contract at the club for the start of the 2003/2004 season. He made his debut at home to Dagenham & Redbridge in August 2003 and made occasional appearances from the subs bench throughout the season gaining a reputation as one of the exciting prospects breaking through into the first team.
A much valued member of the squad Hunter has continued to make regular appearances in the heart of Morecambe's midfield since the 2004/2005 season and has now made more than 125 starts for his home town club. Doesn't score too many goals but won the club's goal of the season award last year with a stunning strike to clinch a 3-2 victory over Grimsby.
