Young Blackpool-born goalkeeper promoted from the Youth Academy in the summer of 2005, making his debut as a substitute against Bradford City at home in the LDV Vans Trophy in November 2005. He really made his name however after being thrown in at the deep end when Morecambe won through to the Conference play-off final in 2007 after first choice goalkeeper Steven Drench dislocated his shoulder in the semi-finals against York.
Despite being only 20 at the time Davies had an excellent game and has never let his side down when called upon since, making a number of appearances in the first team at the end of the 2007/08 season.
His performances won him a two-year contract last summer but he spent all last season on the bench due to the superb form of Barry Roche.
