Laurence signed a two year contract in the summer of 2009 after signing from relegated Chester where he had spent the previous two seasons, playing more than 100 games. A former England Under 19 international who was a member of the side that reached the final of the 2005 Under 19 European Championships Laurence was an Everton junior who was twice on the bench for the first team in Europe.

Settled in superbly well at Morecambe last year and became a firm favourite with the fans playing largely at left back although he can also be used in a left wing back role. Chipped in with some spectacular goals last season and won the League 2 Player of the Month Award for November.
