David joined Morecambe in the summer of 2007 on a free transfer after being surprisingly released by Chester City.
He's an experienced centre half who has played more than 200 Football League games. The 6ft 3ins tall Rotherham-born player began his career at his home town club before moves to Shrewsbury, Mansfield and the Deva Stadium.
His experience proved vital in Morecambe's first season in the Football League and formed an excellent partnership with Jim Bentley in the centre of the Morecambe defence which he carried on last season. Chipped in with a couple of important goals last season and is always a threat at set pieces. Another player who signed a new one year contract for this season.
