Wycombe duo could miss Saturday's clash

Posted on: Tue 05 Aug 2008
A number of websites say Wycombe boss Peter Taylor has revealed Scott McGleish and Mike Williamson could both miss Saturday's opening match against Morecambe.

Williamson is suffering from a sore knee, while McGleish - last season's top scorer - strained his hamstring in the 2-1 win over Stevenage.

"Mike is feeling his knee a touch after playing 90 minutes against Oxford and playing at Chelmsford where the pitch was rock hard, we might not want to risk him," Taylor told the club's official website.

"I will be very, very cautious about Scott too - you don't want to risk him and see him come off at half-time. At the moment both of them are doubtful for Saturday.

There are also concerns about youngster Matt Philips and newcomer Lewis Hunt.

"I would say Matt is out for Saturday without a doubt, it's a thigh strain, Lewis could be another week away from fitness too so it looks like he could miss out too," Taylor added.
