1993-97. Forward 95+39 (43+16 cup) apps; 66 (33 cup) goals.

Big Jim was a huge favourite with the crowd for his never-say-die attitude and aggression. Started off his life at Morecambe by earning the reputation 'Super Sub' as he was on the bench for 41 games in the 1996-97 season. Began his career at Rochdale where he made 14+5 apps before being released in 1986. Played in Jersey and then for Mossley before being signed by Hyde Utd in December 1989 for £8,000.

Witton Albion then paid £10,000 for his services as he spearheaded their campaign to win the NPL in 1990-91. He was also part of the team that took Witton to the FA Trophy final at Wembley in 1991-92 along with Andy Grimshaw.In the space of 2 months in 1992 played for Barrow, Witton Albion, Mossley and Accrington Stanley before settling down at Accrington Stanley until being signed by the Shrimps for £2,000 in August 1993. His goals were vital as Morecambe won promotion to the Conference. Had a brief spell as Jim Harvey's assistant between October 1995 and February 1996 before being released in July 1997.

Moved to Accrington Stanley before a switch to Chorley in June 1998 to become assistant player-manager, having a spell as caretaker manager in 1999. Took over as manager of Rossendale Utd before resigning in November 2002. Returned as assistant manager in September 2003 and became manager for a second time in January 2004, resigning for a second time in May 2004.

Lancashire Cup winner in 1993-94 and 1995-96.
