Boss Sammy McIlroy says his team will be working hard at the "ugly'' side of the game in training this week after suffering a 5-0 defeat at Gillingham on Saturday.
It was the Shrimps' heaviest defeat since joining the Football League and brought a seven game unbeaten run crashing to an end, and one which the boss is keen to right on Saturday against Rochdale.
He said: "We just didn't work hard enough as a unit on Saturday and we paid the price.
"Going forward we did OK and I bet the stats show we had as much possession as Gillingham but it was what happened when we didn't have the ball that was worrying.
"Their goals were far too easy and they didn't have to work hard enough for them. They just ran at us and we didn't get behind the ball and stop them from playing.
"We all know it was unacceptable and we will be working hard in training this week to make sure everyone knows their jobs and it doesn't happen again.''
He added: "It was a bit of a shock because we had been looking pretty solid recently and gone seven games unbeaten. We were confident of getting something from the game and had we scored when we were on top in the opening 20 minutes things may have turned out differently.
"We didn't though and we must make sure we improve quickly.''
