Bentley looking forward to kick off

Posted on: Tue 17 Aug 2010

Shrimps' Reserve team boss Jim Bentley says he is looking forward to his side's first game of the season against Wrexham on Wednesday.

Bentley will be playing his first game of the season himself after missing a large chunk of pre-season with pleurisy and will be joined by several other members of the first team squad all eager to get some match practice.

The player manager will be joined by Stewart Drummond, Garry Hunter, Paul Mullin, Jimmy Spencer and Stuart Hendrie in the game against the side that won the totesport.com League last season.

Said Bentley: "It's a tough start because Wrexham are always a decent side but we are all eager to get going.

"It's my first full season as manager and I am looking forward to the challenge.''
