On form New Mills visited Morecambe and gave the young Morecambe squad a tough test on a windy day at the Globe.
Both teams created chances in the first half but neither side could break the deadlock in the first half. In the 50th minute New Mills went into the lead, Morecambe responded and equalized in the 55th minute when a cross from Sloan was headed home by Riley.
The game remained close until the 65th minute when a 10 minute spell of defensive errors gifted New Mill three goals to go 4-1 ahead.
The young Morecambe boys continued to play football but were caught out again by a New Mills attack and lost a further goal to finish up losing the game 5-1.
