| Stuart Barlow started his career at Liverpool based local club Sherwood Park before moving over to Everton. Stuart made 37 appearances with another 57 as sub, scoring 13 goals before a £350,000 transfer took him to Oldham Athletic. The diminutive striker made 107 appearances for the Boundary Park club, contributing 33 goals along the way. Spells at Wigan, Tranmere, and Stockport have been added to Stuarts CV, and with over 500 appearances in total, with 140 goals thrown in, his experience will be invaluable in the run in to the season.
Whilst a non-contract player at Everton, (due to Mick Lyons being a mate of Dave Jones, who was assistant to Morecambe manager Bryan Griffiths) Stuart played in a Northern Premier League Cup game for Morecambe.
Barlow was 37 when he joined the Shrimps and scored on his debut against Exeter City in a game which ended 2-2. His good start continued, scoring twice at Crawley Town and then once in the 3-1 home win over Burton Albion. A further goal against Forest Green Rovers made it five goals in his first five games for The Shrimps.
Stuart failed to score again for Morecambe and the form of Danny Carlton saw him lose his place in the side before being released at the end of the season.
