Profile
Andy Gouck arrived at Morecambe in a double deal with Ian Arnold from Southport in May 2001 with a reputation as a tough tackling midfielder. His Morecambe career started badly as he arrived to pre season training unfit and overweight.
His playing career didn't start too badly though as he produced some excellent performances in the centre of midfield with his range of passing and ability to pick out players adding a new dimension to Morecambe's play.
This didn't last long and after a few bad performances supporters began to question Gouck's fitness and he became an unpopular figure with the Morecambe faithful. Harvey stuck with Gouck despite the Morecambe fans calling for him to be dropped and he began the 2002/2003 season as a member of the first team.
He scored on the opening day of the season against Margate in a 1-1 draw but with the emergence of Michael Stringfellow he lost his place in the side and was loaned out to Accrington before signing for them on a permanent basis in January 2003.
