Profile
Sheffield born Jamie Heard began his career at Hull City where he spent one season (2002/2003) before being released by the Tigers after making only one appearance in the LDV Vans Trophy at Port Vale in a 3-1 defeat.
He was then snapped up by Mark Wright's Chester City after impressing whilst on trial in pre season and went on to make 27 appearances in all competitions in a season that saw Chester win the Nationwide Conference and gain promotion to the football league.
Jamie was released by Chester at the end of the season and failed to earn a contract at another club in the Summer despite spending time on trial at Scarborough.
Towards the end of Septmber 2004, Morecambe manager Jim Harvey moved to sign Heard onto a non contract basis and the youngster impressed many with his early performances for the Shrimps playing as a wing back and more recently as a right back in a 4-4-2 system.
The popular player agreed a contract to stay on at Morecambe shortly after the end of the 2004/2005 season but his contract was cancelled in October after mutual agreement between himself and the club.
