Keith Hill joined the club on a free transfer in the summer of 2002 after being released by Cheltenham Town.

Hill immediately established himself in the first team and he formed an excellent defensive trio alongside other summer signings Jim Bentley and Iain Swan.

With those three commanding the back line Morecambe had a defence to be proud of but at the end of the year disaster struck for Hill and he was sidelined for the rest of the season.

His final game for the club was against Southport at Christie Park on Boxing Day 2002 in a game that saw Morecambe run out comfortable 3-0 winners. Hill made 23 appearances for the club before he was released at the end of the season.
