Fraser McLachlan was originally brought in on loan at the end of the 2005/2006 season where his displays in the centre of midfield helped Morecambe into the playoffs.

He signed a two year contract in the Summer of 2006 but he had a terrible 2006/2007 season making 17 appearances in all competitions before dropped for the remainder of the season after Morecambe's 3-1 home defeat to York City on New Years Day.
